Snowflakes are one of nature's most fragile things, but
just look what they do when they stick together. - Verna M. Kelly
Winter
Morning Poem
Winter is the king of showmen
Turning tree stumps into snow men
And houses into birthday cakes
And spreading sugar over lakes
Smooth and clean and frosty white
The world looks good enough to bite
That's the season to be young
Catching snowflakes on your tongue
Snow is snowy when it's snowing
I'm sorry it's slushy when it's going
by
Ogden Nash
I like to walk on fresh fallen snow
The kind that whispers and speaks.
It sings a song as I walk along
With crackles and scrunches and squeaks.
- Unknown
First Snow
Standing by my balcony window
Welcoming the first fresh snow
Soon the hill and trees are covered
With a lacy dress that glows
There was no one beside me
Who saw what I just saw
Wish we could be together
Enjoying the Winter fashion show
- Ifay Chang
Snow Is ...
Snow is the clouds tears,
Of all his fears,
Of all his cold winter years,
But when he cries,
Upon the skies,
His cold winter tears freeze
In the cold winter breeze.
- Jemmin Chang (Written in 2nd Grade)
In the depths of winter I finally learned
that within me
there lay an invincible summer.
- Albert Camus
Winter is the time of promise because there
is so little to do - or because you can now and then permit yourself the
luxury of thinking so. ~Stanley Crawford
I was just thinking, if it is really religion with these nudist colonies,
they sure must turn atheists in the wintertime. ~Will Rogers
“If we had no winter, the spring would not be so pleasant: if we did not
sometimes taste of adversity, prosperity would not be so welcome.” ~
Anne Bradstreet
