Ann Gardner Kayman

Ann is a Senior Vice President of the New York City Economic Development Corporation (EDC) and head of EDC’s Business Development Division. Before joining EDC, Ann practiced as a corporate lawyer and litigator at the law firms of Marks & Murase LLP and Oppenheimer Wolff & Donnelly LLP in Midtown Manhattan for more than 13 years.

As head of Business Development for EDC, Ann is responsible for helping the City of New York attract businesses from all over the world to the City’s five boroughs and making the City more business-friendly. She has assisted dozens of start up new media companies and companies that are currently expanding. She has also been instrumental in carrying out the City’s initiatives in new media, such as the New York City Venture Capital Conference, Alley to the Valley, the New York New Media Survey, Plug ‘n’ Go, and most recently, the City’s designation of new high-tech districts as part of "Digital NYC: Wired to the World."

Ann was graduated magna cum laude from Barnard College in 1982, and received her J.D. cum laude from Case Western Reserve University School of Law in 1985.
